Residents "must go" home on a regular basis. This process gives parents a chance to keep family bonds strong and staff a chance to deal with housekeeping matters at AFIL.
We always have a busy month of things to do at AFIL. Click the calenday below to see what we are up to:
AFIL parents are special people.
As parents ourselves, we know how hard a job it is but to also be a parent of someone who is mentally challenged, means that this already difficult job takes on an entire extra dimension.
We know you care about your child and his/her future. AFIL is only part of the big picture and you our parents also play a major role in making things happen.
By training, learning and above all else, practice, AFIL residents learn the skills they need to look after themselves. When you see the events that happen at AFIL, why not come along and help out?
Independence is not just about cooking or making the bed properly, its also about being a part of the community and by being an active part of that community, you enrich us all and help your children live a full life too.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
